Previously, a lot of people expected 4G capability would be brought to the iPhone especially when there are already so many high-end 4G devices in the market. However, a lot of experts speculated that the current technology at that time weren’t advanced enough to produce chips that will not only make the iPhone thin as it is right now, but also power efficient as well.

That will soon change with the release of the new Gobi chips by Qualcomm. These chips are backward compatible with both EV-DO and HSPA+ which would also mean that they will be able to receive both CDMA and GSM networks as well. With this being said and done, the iPhone will then be a world phone as one device will be sufficient to be used in all kinds of networks across the globe.

In other news, Foxconn, a company that is surely giving Apple a bad reputation especially with the suicides and accidents happening in its factories in China had opened up its doors to ABC’s nightline. Some of the interesting highlights are: the iPad are manufactured handmade, workers are paid $1.78/ hour with 10 hours shifts. In fact, a lot of workers complained of overwork and tiredness at jobs which may also lead to depression.
