A post over on Gizmodo  described as discussion on the upcoming Palm Pre. the Post noted —

Palm’s Matt Crowley explained the Pre’s unfortunate lack of a MicroSD(HC) slot as a choice based on the confines of the Pre’s hardware. This omission might be a deal-breaker for the media-centric crowd. (emphasis mine)

It went on to say-

Including 8GBs of storage on the phone is a large amount of storage for many people, but not all.

I was thinking about the line and really couldn’t help but think that it’s just dead wrong. I use my iPhone as both a work and an entertainment device. I’m one of those people who actually enjoys using it to watch a video and I have a number of games, podcasts, and music on it at any given time as well. And yet, while I always opt for the largest capacity available I rarely find that I need all of that space.

It’s not that I don’t use the device for media. Not at all. Rather, it’s so simple to transfer new media to the device were to use the device to listen to music or watch videos that are actually on the device at that moment but rather are streamed. And increasingly, I find myself less and less dependent on onboard storage.

I’m curious whether I’m unusual as regard. So the question of the day is this —

Whether you have 8 GB for 16 GB of storage have you ever found the lack of an SD slot to be a limitation on your iPhone or iPod Touch?

Leave an answer below and you’ll also be entered into a contest to pick from the remaining promotional codes over in The Developer’s Corner.
