Review Update: Quicksend

It was brought to my attention that QuickSend, an App we showed little love (for good reason) has received an update.

Taking a fresh look at the app I am reminded of the commercial that states “Milk: It Does A Body Good” only in this case it would be “Update: It Does An App Good”. That’s right, QuickSend just went form “Ehh” to “Awesome”.

Quicksend is one of a growing number of apps that lets you send quick, pre-formatted emails in seconds with the fewest number of taps possible.

I previously panned it because the pre-formatted text could not be edited and, with over 1800 contacts in my address book, having to scroll through them all in order to find the one I wanted was anything but “Quick”.

All it took were too little changes to make this app truly usable.

First, the app now let’s you customize the snippets of text. Don’t want to send “Can you pick up the kids?”, all you do is erase it. Want to customize “Please call me” so that it instead reads, “Please call me on my cell at 555-555-5555”?  One tap and you can edit to your heart’s content.

Second, The app now lets you determine which email addresses are part of the email scroll-wheel. This means that instead of 1800+ contacts being listed in the scroll-wheel, I can now only show my top ten most frequently emailed contacts.

These two small changes make Quicksend a far more useful app than it previously was and means it gets bumped from 1 star to 4.

Well done!!!
