Achieving great success in producing smartphone, Canadian company RIM is now enlarging their wings to tablet PC market. They has launched their newest tablet PC called  RIM Blackberry PlayBook.  This tablet look rather like “common” tablet with no special look. With 7 inches display with sharp 1024 x 600 pixels display, it offers high visibility even in sunny outdoor environment. The 400 g weight for 0,39 inches is giving quite solid feel to it. Its double camera, 3 MP front facing camera and 5 MP main camera, is not so impressive compared to other tablets. RIM Blackberry playBook also lacks of auto-focus and LED flash for good photo-taking.

With Dual core 1000 MHz processor, RIM Blackberry PlayBook provides more then good power to support its QNX based platform,Blackberry OS 6.It gives high performances even in multitasking use of the tablet. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB,and HDMI provide basic  connectivity of a tablet PC.  The application for RIM Blackberry PlayBook is limited on Blackberry Bridge application. But it has already announced that RIM will soon update the software of the PlayBook. For typing, spacious responsive  7 inches display of PlayBook is more than enough to give comfortable typing activity. But I GB RAM is bit a shame for it.

Comparing to other tablet, RIM Blackberry PlayBook‘s battery life is good since it can be used for the whole day after full charging. In conclusion, the effort from RIM to enter tablet PC market is worth to be appreciated. By the price of $499.99, PlayBook is relatively in healthy price considering its common features. The functionality of PlayBook is still far more than Android tablets out there. It is mostly compatible for browsing the internet and playing games. Moreover, the limited software require Blackberry smartphone to runs additional application. With those plus and minus, RIM Blackberry Playbook is quite good start of RIM to enter tablet market.
