IK Multimedia has just released two great products for musicians: Amplitude Studio and iRig HD. The two products can help you to connect a musical instrument to a Mac or iOS device and carry out multitrack recording on your own iPhone or iPad.

iRig HD

Compared to its predecessor, iRig, the new iRig HD has better audio quality and comes with 30-pin, USB and the lightning connector cables. Besides, the new iRig HD has two pieces:  a piece where you should connect your gadget’s quarter-inch cable and another cable, which connects this unit to the iOS device or Mac .

AmpliTube Studio

The upgraded AmpliTube app has a new studio module. Former editions of AmpliTube had the in-app purchase for the 8-track recorder. However, the new Studio can turn your iOS device to a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). Apple has a similar iOS DAW but it’s a tad limited.

Moreover, AmpliTube comes with a nice drum looper that allows you to program outro, intro, and verse drum loops. While it ships with a collection of Rock loops, you can obtain others from the in-app purchase. The app’s layout is just like that of a GarageBand and it allows you to move, copy, cut, paste and even punch-in.
