Upcoming App – Appigo’s Notebook

I am a huge fan of Toodledo and Appigo’s ToDo iPhone app that seemlessly integrates with it. As I posted previously, Appigo has been continually updating ToDo with the most recent revision released early this morning. Toodledo is a Web 2.0 task manager that has received rave reviews from many and ToDo not only extends it to the iPhone but also offers something Toodledo does not- device resident storage of information.

I have gone back and forth between ToDo, OmniFocus and Things and have FINALLY settled on ToDo. This most recent update puts it light years ahead of everyone else. (That is another series of posts for later this week.) Best of all, there is even more to come!

Toodledo recently added a Notebook feature to Toodledo for saving notes that aren’t exactly tasks but belong in the same place from a storage and access perspective. Add to that the fact that the $29.95 per year Pro Plus version of Toodledo offers up to a gigabyte of storage and you have an increasingly powerful task and note solution.

Unfortunately, among the features missing from ToDo’s iPhone integration was access to data stored there. That is no longer the case (or at least soon won’t be.)

The ToDo update included a line stating "Task export to Appigo Notebook". This means that Appigo’s newest app, Notebook, which integrates with Toodledo’s Notebook is finally public and is on the way. (It is also an excellent stand-alone application.)

I have been using a Beta version of it for a few weeks and all I can tell you is that it is AMAZING! Useful, stable, and powerful!

I jumped over the Appigo’s site and found that the site for Notebook is now live and full of excellent information.

Notebook is a stand-alone app that integrates with both Toodledo AND ToDo. Appigo’s site describes it in this way-

Notebook is a powerful tool which gives you access to your notes anywhere. Use Notebook by itself or synchronize your notes to the web using Toodledo.com, a free online service for notes and tasks. Capture your thoughts and ideas anywhere, categorize them, and synchronize them for safe keeping. Later on, you can browse by Notebook or search all notes by entering key words in the search field. Unlike other note taking applications available on the iPhone, Notebook does not require an Internet connection to create, modify, or access your notes. You can take notes, capture thoughts, and even modify existing notes at any time or any place. When you’ve got an Internet connection again, simply synchronize your changes and update your iPhone with any changes made on the web.

The application is feature rich and includes-

-integration with Todo
-a sharing button to create a new Todo task directly from a note
-storing of Todo tasks for later reference
-sharing notes via email
-email recipients can import notes from these emails directly into copy of Notebook

Notebook is listed "Available soon" for just $4.99 It has already been submitted to the App Store for review so it should be released in the next few days.

We’ll have a full review soon but for now let me offer the review’s conclusion– BUY IT.
