A lot of people were surprised when they found out that the iPhone they have bought with Verizon not only supports the company’s CDMA network but also other carrier’s GSM and 3G networks as well. This is because the iPhones were unlocked in the first place thus making it possible for the users to use other SIM cards inside it.

This is definitely a good thing, especially in the customer’s point of view but not for the carrier’s. That is why everyone expected the company to re-lock the iPhones being sold under them. However, to everyone’s relieve, they did not do so and instead opt to have the iPhones unlocked. This move might prove to be popular especially amongst frequent travelers. This is because in the United States, they can keep their Verizon number but when travelling in other countries, they can use the local GSM cards instead. However, this is still subject to the availability of the nano-SIM.

In other news, Google have updated their Chrome application. The updated version will fully support the iOS 6 and the iPhone 5 tall design. However, you will still be unable to change the default application for the iOS device unlike the Android counterparts.
