Yesterday, Apple officially announced that the white iPhone 4 will be available starting from today, April 28, 2011 from Apple online store, at Apple retail stores, AT&T and Verizon Wireless stores and Apple Authorized Resellers.

It almost a year since the iPhone 4 officially introduced to public by Apple. Although Apple announced plans for both black and white iPhone 4 version in the beginning, but only black that was available for sale while the white iPhone 4 was availability was delayed several times due to some technical problems.

So, it took so long to put white iPhone 4 for sale?

Schiller, in an exclusive interview with AllThingsD said, “It’s not as simple as making something white. There’s a lot more that goes into both the material science of it–how it holds up over time…but also in how it all works with the sensors.”

Schiller said that it turned out there were a lot of unexpected interactions between the color of the device and various internal components. Also, like fair-skinned humans, white iPhones need a little more UV protection from the sun.

We thought we were there a year ago, or less than that, when we launched the iPhone 4, and we weren’t

Schiller said. By waiting, he said that the company was able to deliver a product that will live up to expectations.

So, white iPhone 4 isn’t just the matter of color, but it is a better iPhone 4 in white color, I thought.
