You may have noticed that we have the pleasure of having two superb new writers here on What’s On iPhone.

Both Gretchen and Derick bring a wealth of technology experience and iPhone/Touch enthusiasm to the site and I/we could not be happier to have them as part of our on-going effort to bring you iPhone app news and reviews.

Here’s a bit about each…

My name is Derick and I’m a fourth year undergraduate Psychology and Business student at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. I ordered my iPhone 3G the first day it went on sale and have been hooked to it ever since. I’ve visited the app store pretty much every day since I got it and have always enjoyed playing with new apps.

In my spare time I read pop-science books, devour my google reader feeds, play the piano, play video games (Xbox Live: Raven Blade), and talk science and design with friends over coffee.

My name is Gretchen. I just turned 40 this year.  After work over 20 years in computers and technology, from desktop support to web design to classroom training to training design I am in the process of developping my own consulting business. I am also working on a couple of blog startups that are just about ready for primetime.  I love teaching, learning and writing about technology.

I have always been a mostly pc and windows type who has dabbled in some linux because I am a geek. I could never understand the devotion of Apple lovers. That changed at the end of 2008 when a good friend with an Iphone talked me into buying a Touch.  Now I find myself impressed and fascinated by the design and usefullness of the Touch. I figured writing for whatsoniphone would be a great way for me to learn more about and share my discoveries of stuff for this great device.
