You Light Up My Life

You just never know when an iPod Touch and a simple little app will come in handy. Tonight was a good example…

On our last night here in Aruba we went to dinner at a nice place right on the water. It was a lovely setting with a deck built in such a way that, as one of our group put it, the next step is right into the water.

It was dark. Really really dark. There was no moon and the lighting in the place was understated (which is another way of saying- baaaaad.) My wife’s grandmother (this has become an annual 3rd generation family trip) was having a tough time reading the menu. She was struggling to read it and was about to get up and carry the menu over to where the light was better.

"No, wait," I said, "try this.". With that I fired up the app myLite and handed her my Touch.

That did the trick. The app gave off enough light to fully illuminate each page of the menu.

It was a sight to see our 80+ year old grandmother holding a Touch and reading the menu by its light.

What a world.  (Oh, and the meal??? As my friend Judie over on Gear Diary would say- Meh!)
