User Rating:Chuck Norris: Bring on the Pain! is a combination of an 80’s or early 90’s arcade game (that is over-the-top in terms of cartoon violence) and the famous Chuck Norris Facts. The "facts" are always good for a chuckle, but combining them with a retro arcade game is enough to make me want to buy it.
Game play is fairly simple as an on-screen joystick and buttons are provided. The app also provides clear instructions when the need arises, so it’s a pretty low learning curve. The objective is to get through various scenes (jungle, dojo, streets of NYC) and defeat all of Chuck’s enemies. Getting through a level gets you points which you can buy more game capabilities.
The game itself has humorous overtones. For example, whenever Chuck stands still for about three seconds, he starts doing push-ups. Also, you can take a picture of someone with the iPhone camera and place that face on the enemy combatants. That alone is worth the price.
The game comes with standard sound options and the language can be switched between five different choices. The game also allows for orientation control, which can be switched on or off in the event you flip your device over.
This is a great game with a lot of personality, I highly recommend grabbing your copy today.
Just remember: Chuck Norris does not sleep. He waits.
Quick Take
Value:Chuck Norris' value is always higher than his roundhouse kick.
Would I Buy Again:Chuck Norris would rather I buy his video game than the usual Communist propaganda.
Learning Curve:Chuck Norris doesn't learn. He simply knows.
Who Is It For:Everybody that wants to be Chuck Norris, which is everybody.
What I Like:There are two types of people: those that like Chuck Norris ...
What I Don't Like:... and those that are dead.
Final Statement:Chuck Norris has heard a lot of final statements from former enemies.
