If it wasn’t for my iPad, I would be very lost. I read the news on my iPad, check my email on my iPad, surf the internet on my iPad, and plan my day on my iPad. I love the built in Calendars app since it syncs with iCal on my Mac, but sometimes I prefer a more simplified look for the day’s events. Meet Clockonizer, the perfect app for seeing what your day will be like.

Launching the app, you are presented with an analog clock. Tapping the plus sign brings up the New Event page, which lets you quickly create new events. There are tons of choices such as adding tags, writing a note, or setting a reminder. After setting the time for the event, you can then categorize the event. Clockonizer comes with four categories already (Work, Home, Personal, and Uncategorized), but you can easily create new categories by tapping the New Category option. I really liked how you could choose the color of the category, something you cannot do in the Calendars app.

After saving the event, you can then view your newly customized clock. Now there will be pieces of the clock that are colored to match the category you chose for the event. Each piece will correspond to how long the event is. Plus if you ever forget what the event is or are too lazy to check the time it lasts, you can just tap each piece, and it will tell you when the event begins and ends as well as the event name.

I liked how you could create events in advance and view the date’s clock. Swiping to the  left or right made the clock go twelve hours forwards or backwards, which was useful for viewing the day’s events in advance. The date of the clock was printed on the clock’s face, making it easy to see what day that clock was for.

Clockonizer also lets you email the event details to yourself or others. If you want someone to be contacted about the event, you can import contact information from your Contacts app.

Learning Curve:Anyone that is familiar with creating events in the Calendars app will be able to use Clockonizer.

Who Is It For:Those who have busy schedules and need a way to visualize them.
