ComicStrip is the sort of app I would create if I wanted to learn how to use XCode. Like the title says, using your camera or Photo Library you can create comic strips and add word balloons or other captions to them.
As of this writing, the app is on sale for $.99 and that’s about what I would be willing to pay for it. I like the idea and certain have enough literary capability in my blood to use family photos on my iPhone and make a humorous storyline from them.
Controls are very simple to use. You tap a plus-sign to add a photo (or drawing from your Photo Library) which you can resize or change the area within the borders using standard finger techniques on the device. There is then a menu along the bottom in which you can change the template (the strip layout), add captions, save the strip to your Photo Library or publish it to Facebook or Twitter.
Captions also include stickers with phrases like "Episode 1". Sadly, the stickers’ text can’t be altered, so it only goes up to Episode 3. Generally speaking, I’m actually somewhat disappointed in the (lack of) selection with regards to the stickers. On the other hand, the word and thought balloons are excellent at resizing themselves to fit the typed text and the ability to control where the balloon is pointing is great.
The app could also be enriched by giving the user the capability of e-mailing directly the strip externally to the device instead of relying on the Photo Library. But that’s really a minor complaint.
While ComicStrip isn’t perfect, it’s certainly well done and a lot of fun. Recommended fun for the whole family.

Final Statement:ComicStrip can make you a cartoonist without evening learning to draw.

* Bubbles AUTOMATICALLY RESIZE to the amount of text you write
* Use 2 finger pinch to zoom and rotate
* Double tap on pictures and stickers to delete them
