User Rating:Do you find yourself checking the UPS/FEDEX/USPS/AIRBORNE/etc. to consistently track your package? If the answer is, YES!, then this is application for you.
Deliveries is one of the earlier applications released that allowed the online shopper fanatic to keep tabs of their package and answer the question of when, where and the….oh how much longer will my item arrive?
To start off, design wise, it’s remarkably well done, simple to read, cleanly laid out, and has a great workflow in providing you the shipping information.
Inputting information is simple, you select the carrier, enter a name for the item, enter the tracking information and you’re essentially set.
One thing that makes this section shines is the long list of shipping carriers that you can select from (many international carriers as well). Furthermore, if you made any purchase through Amazon, by entering your user info, it will automatically grab the tracking information from the website and populate the fields for you! So far pretty neat!
The only unfortunate part is entering data into the fields which can be cumbersome especially with the long tracking numbers that some of the carriers may have but what can I say, I either do it once in the app or keep visiting the website and enter the same information again and again to check the package status. Overall, it’s a good trade-off.
As far as displaying the tracking information, when you launch the application, right from the start, it provides you a high level overview in the status of your packages, such as the following:
• How many days till my package arrives?
• When did it ship and exactly what date it’s expected to arrive.
• What city/state is the package currently in right now?
When you drill down by selecting each line item for the package, the line item scrolls through sets of information to give you the option to “view the details” (which will launch mobile safari and bring you to the actual shipping website) and “view map” )which will launch Google maps and show you exactly where your package is currently located).
So far so good, there is really nothing more to it. What else do you need to know? Here’s one more, each package line items is color coded to the carrier. UPS Brown, FedEx Blue and White, Airborne Yellow and Red, etc. so you can quickly glance which carrier you need to harass when your shipment has not arrived.
Other than that, there are other shipment tracking applications out there but this one is definitely one of the best ones, if not, the best out there.
Quick Take:
Value: High
Would I Buy Again: Yes
Learning Curve: Easy
Who is it for: Anyone who is an online shopper.
What I like: Consists of everything you need to check the status of your shipment.
What I Don’t: Inputting information manually, then again, there isn’t really a whole lot you can go around it.
Final Statement: Definitely worth it if you are an online shopperholic or you constantly need updates to your shipment.
Delivery Status touch will let you track your packages from UPS, FedEx, USPS, DHL, TNT, Canada Post, DPD, GLS, Japan Post, Parcelforce, Aramex, Posten Norway, Posten Sweden, Poste Italiane, Purolator, Royal Mail, and UPS Mail Innovations.
