User Rating:I have chosen to review this app two and a half years after its initial release mostly because CBS has threatened to have it pulled due to it’s use of the word "PADD" in the name which was used in their Star Trek franchise and they own the copyright of the term. In return, I blow them a giant raspberry and say this is obviously the work of a fan (who happens to be a Limited Liability Corporation) and they should stop their litigious bullying. Also, it’s a pretty good app for Star Trek fans.
Quite simply, the app displays information about your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch using an interface that is reminiscent of the computers in the Star Trek: The Next Generation franchise. It tells you all you need to know about the device itself (name, ID, memory), the network you’re using, the power levels of the device, your global location in latitude and longitude, an accelerometer, RMS power of the microphone and file system information. If you’re interested in learning your device statistics in a fun and nerdy way, defy CBS and spend the buck.
The beeping sound it makes when going between screens is a little annoying. It would be nice if the creators allowed for a setting to turn that off.
There is a solution to all this, of course. The creators could simply offer the app for free. That would show CBS. In the meanwhile, spend the buck and get this app before CBS finally wins and pressures Apple to pull it.
Quick Take
Value:Medium.
Would I Buy Again:Under the same circumstances, yes.
Learning Curve:Low.
Who Is It For:Star Trek fans to like to know the statistics and usage of their Apple device.
What I Like:Nice functionality. Good interface.
What I Don't Like:Annoying beeping between screens.
Final Statement:Buying this app is a strike against corporate America, despite the creators using an "LLC" in their name.
Functions include:

Location: global coordinates, using GPS if available, with the ability to email the information (including a google maps link)
