User Rating:Dice King is a game that takes Bejeweled and Yahtzee and meshes them together into a game that is extremely fun, and upsettingly easy.
Once you have opened a game to play you are presented with a board similar to that of a Bejeweled game, the only difference here though is that instead of colored diamonds you have numbered blocks from 1-6 (and they are different colors too). Above the board is a row that will keep track of your latest matches. Even farther above that is the requirements to move on to the next round. Requirements include things like three-of-a-kind of fours, or a full house, or four-of-a-kind, etc. Sort of like a game of Yahtzee. Gameplay is simple, all you do is move swap two touching dice and when they move if one makes a line of three or more they will disappear and whatever number they were will move atop the board into the row of recents. Once that row of recents contains one of the requirements of that round they will move from the recent row up to the top and fill in where they belong. Once all the requirements are filled you move on to the next round and so on and so on until you acheive all the trophies based on high score, rounds played, etc.
I have my share of complaints for this game as I do any other however. Each round has the same set of stipulations. It would be more fun if the more rounds you beat the harder it got to complete the stipulations. Also, the game is extremely easy and almost impossible to lose so after about five rounds of the same exact thing it tends to get kind of boring. It’s a fun game, but only for a short time.
QUICK TAKE
Value: Medium
Would I Buy Again: With more levels? Yes
Learning Curve: Easy-Medium
Who is it For: Anyone who is a fan of Yahtzee or Bejeweled
My Likes: Great mixture of two games that are both very fun
My Dislikes: The same level repeats over and over again
Final Statement: Dice King is a fun game, but only for about 20-30 minutes. After you play the same level over and over again so many times it gets extremely repetitive. I would hope that the developer would be releasing an update soon that would increase the difficulty of the levels. With that added, Dice King could be a greatly fun game.
