Love uber violence? Hate clowns? Got a few hours to wile away? DoodleBoy – The Violence Park might very well be the game for you!

As the name would suggest, Doodleboy is a very violent game. Actually, all you do is kill and destroy. Violence Park appears to be an amusement park from hell, filled with homicidal clowns, grim reapers and zombies that are out to get poor DoodleBoy. He, however, is not easily stumped, and can take on vast numbers of baddies. You may start off with only a gun and a knife, but soon you have an entire arsenal of weapons at your disposal: 24 different ones all in all! You can also collect money and hire people to do your killing for you. Nice touch.

There’s a tendency to NOT make games look overly pretty, and DoodleBoy sure ain’t no oil painting. Which is probably the whole point, as YOU can draw (yes, doodle) your own face. Or upload a picture. Or pick one that’s was doodled for you, if you prefer (I’d say: doodle! Go on!). That was actually my favorite feature of the whole app. Gameplay is dead easy, you can only go backwards and forwards and if you keep shooting and moving forward, you’ll mostly be okay. Take care not to waste ammo at first. There are some bosses that take a bit of an effort to kill, but all in all it’s pretty straightforward. The only thing that really bugged me, somehow, was the name: Why is it “The” Violence Park? It reminded me of people who still say “the Facebook”. Why not just “Violence Park”? But hey, that’s nitpicking. For $0.99 this is good, violent, value for money.

We rate this app 4 out of 5 stars.
