The premise behind Dr. Nano is that you are “Dr. Nano”, a physician that’s been shrunk down to fit inside a person’s blood vessels (a la the Fantastic Voyage).  As you maneuver through the blood, you’ll need to accomplish various tasks in order to make it to the next level

Tape worms, parasites, blood clots and plaque all need to be eliminated.  Watch out and make sure that your oxygen doesn’t run out!

In reality, Dr. Nano is another tunnel game such as Tunnel 3D and 3D Tunnel Vision.  The controls on Dr. Nano are pretty good—responsive enough to make it move the way you want it too, but not too sensitive.  It also has a throttle, and being able to slow down made steering (for me at least) much easier.

The animations are cute and fluid, and the game is challenging enough; without being frustrating.  (I did think it was getting a little monotonous by Level 5 and I just turned off the game.)

When you need to shoot at something, I think it would be nicer if you could aim the gun with a finger while you tilted to steer.  As it is, the gun is a little awkward as it sort of floats in the direction you are tilting.  So if you need to fire to the right and turn to the left, it’s almost impossible.  But if I could tilt left and use my finger to aim and ire right, now I’d be able to get that tape worm.

Dr. Nano is a fun game, and if you like tunnel games you’ll love this one.  If, like me, you aren’t really a “tunnel” fanatic, then this game is a bit ho-hum

Quick Take

Value: Medium

Would I Buy Again:  If I was looking for a ‘tunnel’ game, I would pick this one

Learning Curve: Low–most people know how to play with an acceleramator at this point

Who Is It For: Casual gamers and people that like games where you need to steer through tunnels

What I Like:  Nice graphics

What I Don’t: After a while, each level became "more of the same".

Final Statement: If you like tunnel games, this is a good one for you.
