Ever look in the mirror and… for just a moment… see one of your parents in the reflection?

Ever hear yourself say something and suddenly realize that that is EXACTLY what and how a parent would have said it?

Worst of all, ever have a moment when you realized you had just told the exact same stupid joke a parent would have?

Well this app brought one such moment to me…

When I was a kid my dad would make a duck sound and then, using his best Daffy Duck voice say… of all things… “What’s up doc??” (Talk about your mixed cartoons!)

DuckTalk took me back to those days and for that reason alone I was glad to have tried it.

DuckTalk offers 9 stock phrases spoken in a duck voice. Like my dad’s “What’s up doc?” it is cute and funny… for about 10 seconds.

You can also record your own phrases and have the app convert it into DuckTalk.

Quick Take

Value: Low
Would I Buy Again: No
Learning Curve: None
Who is it for: People who like talking like a duck
What I like: Brought me back to childhood
What I Don’t: Silly bordering on stupid

Final Statement: If this were free it would be worth getting for the quick laugh. Since it isn’t… unless you have a duck fetish… pass.

Read the Developer's Notes:
Have you always secretly envied that friend who can talk like a duck? Always wished that you could too? Well, good news, now you can! With DuckTalk you can record your voice (or why not your friend's voice?) and it will playback like a duck's voice.

Record with just two taps on any of the nine duck buttons. Playback with a single tap. It is really that simple - and cool looking too with animated buttons! Even the labels are zoomed up and changed in-place. As an added bonus, to get you started, you get nine pre-recorded messages to play with right away. Now all you have to do is learn the duckwalk, and you will instantly become the star of your office. Happy DuckTalking! Late breaking news: be prepared to meet Serge, your personal duck assistant. Available in DuckTalk from Oct 13th. No ducks were harmed in making this fine product.O U R   T A K E . . .
