Here’s your survey.  Top ten answers are on the board.  Here’s the question: name a terrific game show recreation for the iPhone and iPod Touch.  Number 1 answer is Family Feud.

My first impression of the Family Feud game for the iPhone and iPod Touch was: where’s Richard Dawson?  I’d even settle for Richard Karn or Louie Anderson or the current host John O’Hurley.

My second impression was: this game is fantastic.  The popular theme song is played in the background and they even duplicate the camera pans that are normally found in the television game show.

If you don’t know the rules of the game, it’s not a big deal.  The ubiquitous announcer (whose voice I don’t recognize and face is not seen) goes through the rules before play begins.

The player chooses an avatar (including wardrobe and hairstyle) and an attitude (yes, you can choose your own attitude).  Multiplayer games are possible presumably via WiFi, Bluetooth or a data connection although that is not made clear in the game description.

The best part about the game is the intelligence of it.  For example, I was given the question to name a type of annoying bug found in the household.  I typed "mosquito" and the program knew to match that with "mosquitoes" (the actual answer on the board).  The best recommendation I can give to players is: know how to spell.  I’m sure if I played for a while, I could find a flaw in this game.  But as of right now, there are none.

My grandfather, may he rest in peace, was a huge game show fan.  I think that despite his lack of technical know-how, he would have really enjoyed this game.  If you’re a fan of game shows, you would too, particularly at the introductory discounted price.  It’s a lot of game for $2.
