User Rating:The price of Fingerzilla has been briefly reduced to zero and has shot to the top of the App Store most-downloaded list for free apps as a result. Who wouldn’t want destroy a city with their finger? It’s like taking Pocket God to the next level.
The game play is ridiculously simple. You tap your finger on the screen to destroy anything and everything. The more you destroy, the more points you earn. The violence is very cartoonish and even the trees seem to spontaneously explode when tapped.
Granted, I was hoping for more realism with regards to the destruction. That could just be my bloodthirsty nature. On the other hand, by making it unrealistic, the creators are also making it more kid-friendly (not necessarily a bad thing when marketing a game). Another minor complaint of mine is that I would prefer to destroy actual cities. While real town names in California are used such as Oakville and San Francisco, they don’t look like the real cities. How about cities like Tokyo or Paris, or London with images of Big Ben or the Eiffel Tower?
The game is cute, fun and simple. If you ever wanted to work out those daily frustrations in a destructive way and Pocket God is unavailable, then Fingerzilla is for you.
Quick Take
Value:Medium to High.
Would I Buy Again:For free? Yes.
Learning Curve:Low.
Who Is It For:Those who dig Godzilla movies and have anger issues.
What I Like:The concept. The price.
What I Don't Like:Lack of actual cities and/or realism.
Final Statement:Despite it's shortcomings, it's still worth downloading. Watch out, San Francisco.
