Recently I was stranded. My car had broken down and I couldn’t do anything.
But being the good Boy Scout that I am, I was prepared! I had a laptop, and my trusty iPhone. Nothing could stop me from getting work done.
Nothing except lack of an internet connection.
Wi-fi has become so popular these days, I just assumed there would be one at the “large store” I went to. Well, I guess I need to go back to the boy scouts.
Either way, I went to the app store and downloaded the Global Free Wi-fi locator. It found my location and pointed me to the closest hot spot near me.
The closest location turned out to be too far for me to walk, but after my car was fixed, I drove past the hotspots it suggested and they all seemed to be correct.
Most of them seemed to be Libraries and Panera restaurants, but there were other locations as well. The fact that it lists the address, provider, and phone number, made it very convenient for me to know if the hotspot would be right for me.
If you travel a lot, or are often on the road, this is a handy app to have.

What I Like: It’s easier than driving around looking for a wi-fi spot by chance
What I Don’t: It’s only as accurate as it’s listings. It’d be nice if you could add your own listings.
Final Statement: If you travel a lot, or are often on the road, this is a handy app to have.
