There is this interesting interpretation about bees in cartoony form that largely differs from their actual, scary selves. In games and cartoons, bees are often depicted as royals and in Funky Bee this does not change.

In this adventure game, players go on multiple quests as bees to save their hives, and I must say that the storyline is very impressive. No spoilers here, but Funky Bee offers an extensive and enriching plot that is really very thorough for a casual mobile game.

The large variety of quests will keep you busy for hours on end, and at the start it is very captivating. However, as per most adventure games you will reach a stage where you get bored of it but the interest to play will come back soon enough.

I like the interactivity in Funky Bee, where you are prompted to not only interact with Non-Playing Characters but also the environment as well. This is a significant difference to other casual adventure games where players can only talk to other characters.

The graphics of the game are not really much to rave nor complain about, however, as it is but a cartoonish 2D game.

For a free app, Funky Bee gets both my thumbs up. Despite advantages being purchasable through the app store, they serve no real purpose as the game can be completed without having to pay a single cent, something that is honestly quite rare for a completely free game nowadays.

THE STORY SO FAR…
Five hundred years ago, a terrible dragon destroyed the magical Funky Bee castle in a blaze of fire.

Rallying around Her Royal Beeness, Queen Groovisma, the few survivors rebuilt the castle and peace was once again restored to the valley. And so it has been for centuries.

But recently, a series of mysterious magic outages have plagued the castle and its inhabitants.

To make matters worse, bears have been sighted on the banks of Honeydew River, near the Great Dam.

Rumor has it that the bears have somehow found a way into the ancient catacombs that lie deep underground. But how? And why?

Now it is up to you to discover the truth behind this growing threat and save Funky Bee before it is to late!
