Are you a geography enthusiast?  Do you know someone who is?  Are you trying to teach someone about geography?  Then Geopolis may be worth your while.

The game is quite simple  You are shown a world map (which you can zoom in or out of as needed) and the game asks you where a particular city is located.  There are country borders but no labelling of any sort.  You plant a little flag icon (which turns into a push pin) on the location where you believe the city is located and then hit the check button to see if you are correct.  The closer you are to the actual city location on the map, the more points you earn.

I do have two complaints about this game.  To begin, it’s difficult even with zooming to get to the exact location of a city on the map.  Thank goodness they give points for getting real close.  Also, they misspell the word "mismatch" when the window pops up to tell you how close/far you got to the target.  As a grammatical nerd, that bothers me.

It is fun game though and it’s a good method of learning your way around the world.  I was so bad at the game, it got to the point where I simply guessed the city location based on the sound and spelling of the it.  I got a few points that way, too.

It’s a good game, but still needs work.  If you’re a geography nerd with $2.99 to spare, then I recommend it.

Pros: Good concept.  Simple rules.

Cons: Difficult to push the pin in an exact location.  Grammatical errors.
