Warning: If you were to play Ghostbusters Paranormal Blast outdoors as suggested by the app, you will be getting many a weird stare. However, the sheer entertainment given by the game is more than enough to justify this.
Based on the popular paranormal series, Ghostbusters Paranormal Blast has you don lots of whacky and slimy weapons to vanquish demons back to the other world. What I like about this game is that these ghosts are not particularly scary, and the game seeks to entertain more than it scares.
The augmented reality system of Ghostbusters Paranormal Blast is the true drawing factor of the game. Using the gyroscope of your device as well as the camera, the game transforms whatever location you are at into a haunted one, with ghosts coming out for you to destroy.
This is one game that you will not find yourself sitting still to play, for you will spend much time moving your device around looking for ghouls.
I found the graphics of the game to be of acceptable standards, as the game impresses upon real world footage with cartoon renditions of its cutesy demons. While these ghouls do not appear to be natural and does look rather fake, it is negligible as the game still delivers excellent gameplay nonetheless.
Priced at $0.99, I would say that this game is one of the best games at this price range. The only downside would be that in-app purchases are needed to advance faster in the game. Though not necessary, it does kind of spoil gameplay to some extent.
