One of the pieces of iPhone functionality that I appreciate the most is the GPS capability. I get lost easily and it’s not an exaggeration to say that the iPhone GPS has saved my life on a few occasions. It substitutes for any car GPS and can even be used under pedestrian circumstances.
As a result, I welcome any opportunity to check out a new GPS app. The Gogo Navigator series has many advantages and a few disadvantages against the others (such as Navigon and TomTom), but it certainly would be a viable alternative.
One of the big advantages is price. The TomTom app with similar capability is $20 more and the Navigon app costs double. There are other benefits such as a very good interface and a lot of extra capability. For example, the app can switch between a 3D and map view of the road and get turn-by-turn directions. It also interfaces with Google search to find points of interest nearby and has text-to-speech functionality.
Unfortunately, I found one disadvantage: I used it for testing as I was driving to find a particular address in Queens, NY. When I put the address in Gogo Navigator, it found the street but the actual numerical address wasn’t available. I ended up switching to my Navigon app to find the exact location. This incident prevents me from giving it a perfect score.
Otherwise, the Gogo Navigator worked great when I drove around using it. For those who feel that the costs of the other GPS apps are too high and don’t want to wait until the next sale, this app may be for you.

What I Don't Like:Some addresses may not be in the system and a workaround may be necessary to find the exact address.
