Everyone has their dream home, and now with Home Design 3D By LiveCad, you can build one on the iPad.
LiveCad software is available on the PC (but not on the Mac, ironically enough), but the version for the iPad is a more simplified one. It should be, given the price difference, but I was somehow hoping for more features, closer to the level that is delivered on the computer.
However, the features that are delivered work incredibly well. You can design a floor plan for a room, apartment, or home and choose from a library of 150 objects to decorate with. You can then save the plan and transfer it (via e-mail) to the PC version of the software.
The presentation is excellent. The interface is well-designed and intuitive. You can switch between 2D and 3D versions of the model. You can also publish the design to Facebook, e-mail it or save it to the Photo Library. You can also control various aspects of your design such as making walls invisible and rotating and scaling various furniture.
The controls are a little awkward to use at first. Dragging and dropping was easy but rotating was difficult until I got the hang of it. I was also hoping for a little more selection for the home content.
If you want to design a dream home, Home Design 3D by LiveCad is a good start. If it’s not enough, I guess you’ll have to splurge and buy the software. And get a PC.

Final Statement:While I was hoping for more in terms of creating a living space, Home Design 3D is a good start.
