User Rating:There are zillions of drawing apps in the App Store, and I’ve tried most of them as soon as they appeared, if they looked good. This is one of them: one of the good ones. With a nice twist: it can generate videos of your drawings!
ibisPaint is a very neat drawing application. It greets you with a 3-option menu (with two smaller icons for help and settings), with the user gallery, local gallery and online gallery. The user gallery is clear: this is where you add your drawings and edit (or watch) old ones. The local gallery is where samples are stored, it starts with two drawings, and you can get more online to watch. The online gallery is where you can watch what some amazing finger-artists are creating out there, with videos to show how it’s done.
The interface is one of the best I’ve seen: clean simple and quick to use. It takes quite a lot to get used to it, since it is very minimalistic: only icons to make out what the buttons do! Don’t despair, in the welcome screen you have a 9-page tutorial under the help menu, covering all the tools clearly enough. There are also up to 6 layers available for drawing as an in-app purchase of 0.99$.
Exporting or sharing your drawings is standard: under the settings menu you can choose to connect with either Twitter and/or Facebook to sign in to ibispaint.com, where you can upload your videos. You can add your own youtube account to store these videos after uploading your submission to ibispaint.com
All in all a very interesting and economic (and now more, it is currently on sale) drawing application, holding its ground against the giants that battle the finger-painting iPad battle. Very recommended for beginner iPad drawers for its price
You can watch one impressive example below, with video:
