Do you have a vacation home or do you just want to keep an eye on your home when you are away? Have you thought about using camera surveillance but after you looked into it, found out that it was way too expensive? Well, help is on the way. An App called iCam by skjm llc can do the job for you!
Download iCam to your iphone. Then, go to your computer and download the App to your desktop from their website. Open iCam and select a series of options to set it up. It will show up to four cameras on your iPhone transmitting both audio and video over the wifi 3g or the edge network. You can see all four cameras at once or tap on one to enlarge a specific camera to full screen. You can even make an in-App purchase for 99 cents and get push notifications when movement is detected from any of the cameras. You can also adjust the sensitivity of the motion from very sensitive to less sensitive (in case you have animals that could set off the cameras).
There are many uses for this App – you can keep an eye on the baby’s room when you are home in another room, watch a vacation house or even watch your business. Icam supports many available cameras that are on sale today. So, how much for all of this control, you ask? It’s only $4.99 in the App Store. That’s a great deal to have peace of mind.

A : iCam is an application for the iPhone and iPod touch that allows you to view live streaming video from up to four computer webcams at the same time.iCamSource is the free computer application that streams your webcam video to iCam. Q : What do I need to do to setup and use iCam and iCamSource?A : The steps are:1) Download iCam to your iPhone or iPod touch and iCamSource to your computer.2) Start iCamSource, and choose your webcam from the Video drop-down list.3) Enter a Login and Password, and click the Start button. iCamSource is now setup and running.4) Start iCam on your iPhone or iPod touch, and enter the same Login and Password from Step 3.5) Tap Done. iCam is now setup and running, and should connect to the iCamSource running on your computer. Repeat Steps 2&3 for any additional computers and Steps 4&5 for any additional iPhones or iPod touches, being sure to use the same Login and Password for all of them. Q : Do I have to configure my firewall or router or know what my IP address is to use iCam? A : Nope. :)iCam and iCamSource use the same firewall- and router-piercing technologies and algorithms developed for fileai.com to perform zero-config peer-to-peer connections. In most situations, things should" just work "unless your network is particularly complex or restricted. If you do have problems getting things to work, please be sure to either Contact Support or visit the Discussion Forum. Q : Does this work if iCam is connected via EDGE or 3G or a different WiFi network than the iCamSource? A : Yes.Note : If you are on the move and your iPhone switches between being connected via WiFi, EDGE or 3G, you may have to tap the Reconnect button if you lose your connections as your IP address may have changed. Q : What types of cameras does the iCamSource support? A : The iCamSource currently supports any Built-In, FireWire or USB webcam supported by Windows XP/Vista or OS X 10.4 (Tiger) and later. It also supports FireWire-connected DV cameras on OS X 10.5 (Leopard) and later, as well as any Built-In or USB webcams supported by Windows XP/Vista. It does not currently support network or WiFi cameras at this time. Q : What are the Auto-Lock Override and Auto-Zoom options? A : The Auto-Lock Override simply prevents your device from automatically dimming its screen and going to" sleep "after a short period of inactivity whenever iCam is running. The Auto-Zoom option (new in version 1.0.3) causes iCam to automatically zoom in when you are connecting to only one iCamSource. Q : Why can't I hear any audio? A : Audio is only transmitted when you are zoomed in on a camera. Make sure that your microphone volume is turned up on your computer and your iPhone and that your iPhone isn't in silent mode.
