User Rating:Since the iPhone is not able to send MMS messages, I have been interested in a way to present my photos when I email them. I have sons who are four years and one year old. My father lives a couple of hours away, and always wants to see them. Most of the photos I take with my phone are snapshots to send a moment to my dad. A small photo collage can be a great way to spice up the pictures and send a couple at one time. This brings us to iCollage.
iCollage is an attractive easy to use application for the iPhone and iPod touch. You simply add two photos to a supplied frame template. You have the option of taking the photo as you create or adding the photo from your camera roll. Once the photo is added, you simply drag, rotate, and resize the photo using multi-touch gestures to insert into the frames. The interface is simple and intuitive and works much like Juxtaposer in regards to adjusting your photos. There are two categories of templates: Calendar and Other. The calendar template category includes one themed template for each month which obviously includes a small calendar. The current calendars are for 2009 and I’m sure there will be an update for next year to change the calendar as there are no settings to change the year. The other category includes 8 templates. These templates include 3 for pets, 2 for sports, 2 for family and 1 greeting. Even though the templates are attractive and well made, the limited number could keep me from using the app all of the time. If the developer adds templates through updates, this could be a must have app for those who like to share their photos. Once your collage is complete you have the option of saving to your camera roll or saving and sending as an email. You do need to be on wifi to send as an email from the application. iCollage is a keeper for now, but could become a must-have with the addition of more template options.
