The e-mail distribution list for the iPhone and iPod touch is a simple, yet powerful application that already has a permanent place on my iPhone.
What makes it so powerful is its simplicity of use.
When you first start the application invites you to create or modify an existing group. This is done by giving the group a name, and then selecting those contacts you want to be part of the group.
The contracts are pulled from the iPhone’s address book and while the process is a bit slow and cumbersome it only has to be done once when creating a group and therefore isn’t too much of a problem.
After the group is created when you start the app you’re offered a scroll wheel of all of the groups you created.
You can then scroll to the group you want to use, click the "compose e-mail" button and a new e-mail opens with all of the e-mail addresses that are part of that group already inserted into the "to:" field.
That’s the entire application. It’s simple, doesn’t have a particularly impressive user interface, but he gets the job done and it gets the job done well. That makes it a keeper and a good value at $.99.
