iLOLZ is an example of another app that is CRapp, we haven’t covered these in a while, but while this one might be a good idea (jury is still out on that), the execution is very poor.

It’s a pretty simple app.  You type messages in the style of LOLCats on top of a photograph on your device.  Of course, this involves you actually knowing the proper LOLCat syntax.  If you do, you have both my awe and pity.

I would happily give the app five stars for ease of use.  The instructions are right on the main screen once you start iLOLZ up.  Once a photo is chosen, a series of cute, cartoonish buttons appear along the bottom of the screen with fairly straightforward instructions on each.  You can type your message along the top and move it anywhere on the page with your finger.  Then you can either save, e-mail, clear (the text), or choose a different picture.

And that’s it.  That’s all the app does.  If the creators wanted to improve the application, I recommend the following enhancements:

1.  The ability to change size and font of text.  While the "LOLCat" style is good for what it’s used for, it’s very limiting.

2.  Come with a photo library already included.  How many of us have pictures of cats already on our iPhone or iTouch?  Don’t answer that.

3.  Two words:  Word Balloons.

I leave it to you whether or not you want to invest $.99 in this application.  If you have a huge collection of personally made LOLCats taking up a chunk of your hard drive space, this could save you some keystrokes.

Pros: Simple to use.  Cheap.

Cons: Not very flexible in what it does.
