If you are among the many people who enjoy heading to Digg to see the top-ranked news stories from around the world, you will enjoy the Shovel Free app. This is a Digg client that allows the user to choose their particular fields of interest and then instantly see the top-rated items from that category.

The Shovel Free app lets the user see All Stories, or they can tap on a wide selection of specialized areas including Technology, World and Business, Science, Gaming, Lifestyle, Entertainment, Sports, Offbeat and more. Users can then read the full story and decide if they want to bury or Digg it.

The app also allows users to see which stories they have previously Dugg, review all of their past comments, add or manage their friends and fans, and even see which stories they have submitted. There is also a live comment feed option, copy and paste capabilities, and an in-app email application too. Facebook users will also appreciate the integration between the app and the site as well.

There are other Digg clients, but the Shovel Free app seeks to be the most comprehensive and user-friendly of all those currently available.

There is no cost for this app, and the designers intend to update it for free once the Digg site allows API interfacing in the near future. The app is compatible with iPod Touch and iPhone devices.

If you want to enjoy your access to your Digg account from any location, this is one app to download to your mobile device right away.
