Take a pair of filthy hands, a pizza cutter, and a patient waiting for surgery and what do you get? The Amateur Surgeon app! It allows people to fine-tune the art of medical disaster while advancing through various levels of surgical horror. The Amateur Surgeon app walks the player through an array of nightmarish medical procedures and asks them to use such equipment as car batteries, salad tongs, and even staplers to save the patient.

Every level involves many steps and a surgeon can only advance if they succeed in the operation at hand. There are touch screen functions such as incision-making and tool selection, and rubbing the area can cauterize or sterilize wounds too. The screen can be zoomed in for accuracy, and the app praises the player when a particular procedure is done well.

Should the player want an interior shot of the injury they can use the X-Ray view to help them out, and should the patient become difficult there is always anesthesia available too. The game also remembers the player’s level of achievement each time they begin a new round of surgeries as well.

There are other horror story, and yet equally comedic, games such as Zombieville, but the Amateur Surgeon app is one that is designed to entertain and still reward the player for even their worst deeds.

The cost for the app is $2.99 and any updates are free of charge. This app functions with iPod Touch and iPhone devices.

If you enjoyed the old board game of Operation, then this is definitely an app for you to download right away.
