No one ever said that mobile device cameras were high-tech wonders, and because of this many people are disappointed if a photograph is too dim because there is no built-in flash. Now, iPod Touch and iPhone users can overcome this constant issue with the iFlashReady app. This is a special software package that enhances a photo through the addition of artificial flash lighting.

The iFlashReady app will accept a photograph from the device library, or any imported photos from iTunes and apply a varying level of artificial flash to them. The user can control just how much flash is applied by selecting “flash”, “more flash”, and “high flash” settings. The display screen provides an accurate representation of the image with each of the flash levels applied.

Once the flash is selected the user can save the image or restore it to its original appearance. This app will be able to automatically identify areas of low to high light and understand where flash fill techniques or simple overall lighting is required. It does not ignore good contrast and color, but aims to improve the scene to the best effect.

While there are several photo editing options for those using iPod Touch and iPhone devices, there are none geared strictly towards adding a flash effect to the image.
