Are you a live music enthusiast? Do you enjoy attending concerts and performances of all sizes? If so, you will want to get the Shows app for your mobile device. This highly efficient app alerts the user to any upcoming performances by their favorite artists, and even syncs with their iPod library to ensure that all relevant listings are announced.

The Shows app uses a proprietary server and is directly powered by MySpace which means that every possible concert listing is going to be captured. This data is then compared to the inventory of favorite artists and to those in an iPod library to deliver custom lists of upcoming events. The user can indicate the distance they are willing to travel to take in a concert, and even get turn by turn directions and maps from the on board Google Maps integration.

The app automatically syncs when near a WiFi access point and full offline browsing is possible – the app user needs to be on the Internet only to add an artist to their favorites. In addition to having the “My Artists” and “Local Shows” features, there is also the “Attending” button that can be triggered to tag those events to which the user has acquired tickets.

There are many concert and performance apps, but the Shows app is unique in that it will integrate listings with all iPod library artists. It currently functions with both iPod Touch and iPhone devices.

This app costs $1.99 to download, and there is a Twitter feed that delivers news and information about free updates.
