The classic video game of Pong is now available for iPhone and iPod Touch users in the Pong Classic app; it does come with a bit of a twist however. Instead of directing paddles with the touch screen controls like so many other mobile games, the player uses the shake feature on the device to return hits.

When two players open the app and touch the devices the apps installed on each will allow them to play a game against one another through the air around them. The Pong Classic app is a very simple and streamlined game that uses basic graphics and a black and white color scheme to make it super-easy for players to focus on returning hits and making points.

The settings are for single and multi-player games, and while multiplayers compete directly against their friends, the single player is actually fighting the app itself. All movements are achieved through a tilt, shake, or movement of the device and it may not be as easy as most people believe.

There are other gaming apps, but the Pong Classic app is among the most streamlined and easy to master. It does require some very simple geometry calculations and quick handwork to prevent the ball from exiting the screen. The app is designed for use exclusively with iPod Touch and iPhone devices.
