Anyone who enjoys interactive art applications and who also likes to experiment with modern or techno music will appreciate the simplicity and fun of the Matrix Music Pad app. This uses a few basic colors and some simple touch commands to create customized musical compositions. The designers call it an interactive art production, but you’ll call it just plain cool.

The app opens with a simple black screen upon which four colored dots appear in the shades of red, yellow, blue and green. Hitting the green dot initiates the program and the user simply drags the other dots around the screen to change the synthesizer, bass and drums, and sound effects.

They can opt for a wide range of basic tunes or melodies to follow and can even select the ranges and speeds for all of the effects. By shaking the device, the player can move into the sequencer mode and plot sounds on the full-screen grid, after which they can create entirely unique songs.
