If you are an artist or graphic designer you have probably found that there are some challenges to working with colors. For instance, you may find yourself working with a specific custom color set across a few programs. This means you need to know the rules for that color in CMYK, RGB, or other values. The Peppermint app is a powerful tool for getting such data, and for working with colors in many other ways too.

The Peppermint app has several interfaces that provide details about color rules in the Analogous, Complementary, Compound, Monochromatic, Shades, Split Complementary, Tetrad, and Triad fashions. It maintains the sample of the current color set along the bottom of the specific view while it delivers the analysis above. For example, the user could be reviewing their color set in the RGB, HSV, or CMYK version with the detailed analysis of that color’s composition on the screen.

In addition to assisting the individual with color analysis, the app also provides hints and recommendations for complementary colors using the classic color wheel principles. Finally, the individual can bookmark all of their color sets and take them along to keep as handy reference while out in the field or when purchasing supplies.

There are some tools for graphic designers, but the Peppermint app is among the few color wheel and color analysis tools with such comprehensive ways of working with data and information. It is compatible only with iPhone and iPod Touch devices.

The cost of the app is $2.99, and the developers are working on additional color wheel tools to make available for free.

If you frequently work with color and need an incredibly accurate tool for making choices or purchases, the Peppermint app is one for you.
