Imagine how much fun and creativity is available to you when you can access your djay 3 software remotely. This is the entire point of the djay Remote app, which syncs the computer software with the mobile device and converts it into a full-featured DJ controller.

The djay Remote app accesses the entire iTunes library on the user’s Mac computer. It features duel turntables with full touch controls. These can be cued to scratch, loop, and skip in real time. The screen of the device will feature the cover artwork for the tunes being played, and a timeline with the artists or titles mixed. The Automix mode allows for the user to queue a list of songs requested by listeners, or to let themselves enjoy endless and effortless music.

The effects feature BPM sync, pitch bending, two way synchronous interface, ultra low latency for truly real time effects, and a three-band EQ with full volume controls.  The app does require the djay 3 software, but there is a free trial download available from the designer’s website.

There are other mixing apps such as Lopptastic, Baby Decks DJ, and the TouchOSC, but the djay Remote app is one that is connected directly to a powerful software package and allows full access to the iTunes library.

This app functions with iPad, iPod Touch and iPhone devices. The cost for the app is $4.99, and any updates are free of charge. The free trail of djay 3 must be downloaded for full functionality.

If you want to experiment with mixing your favorite tracks, but don’t want to be tied to a computer to do it, the djay Remote app is a good one for you to download right away.
