As well as absurdly enjoyable puzzle games, the iPhone is also well-suited to quirky physics-based games, normally involving themes that sometimes seem to have been blindly and randomly picked out of a dictionary. If it worked with Angry Birds, then why shouldn’t it work with something else?
The people who made Jelly Wars clearly shared a similar sentiment, by bringing out a game which can be described as the spawn of a menage-a-trois between an Angry Birds bird, a worm from Worms, and a gorilla from that ancient Qbasic DOS game Gorillas. The resulting creature, interestingly enough, is a blob of jelly.
In Jelly Wars you have one-on-one battles against online opponents in which you take turns to fire blobs at each other. The scenery is destructible, and you have the choice of firing either sticky blobs, bouncing blobs or, if you need to find a safer position, yourself.
While the premise is simple, the slingshot-style of gameplay, in which you wind up your shots by dragging your finger a la Angry Birds, makes it an extremely challenging game. One wrong move, and you could accidentally fire yourself into oblivion, or drop a grenade on yourself. The world of jelly is a brutal one.
The graphics in the game are charming and curvaceous, and the pulsating, staring jelly blobs are strangely endearing. Jelly Wars could do with a few extra features, such as more weapons and team battles, but the highly skilful gameplay style should keep fans of any of the earlier-mentioned games entertained for a while.

Who Is It For:People who like Worms, Birds, Gorillas, and Jelly.
What I Like:Tough gameplay that's extremely satisfying when mastered.
What I Don't Like:Not enough weapons and gameplay options.
Final Statement:A colourful and amusing jelly-slinging game that's more challenging than it looks.

In Jelly Wars your objective is to destroy your opponent either by shooting exploding jelly shots at them or the bar below them causing the bar to fall. Aim carefully! The closer you shoot, the more energy you take from your opponent. You can change your position by jumping or if your opponent is somewhere you can’t reach, you can shoot sticky green jelly shots to the bars.
