User Rating:Kevin Smith is somewhat the unofficial representative of Generation X. He caught onto the whole "truth in movie dialogue" concept before it became truly popular from the movie Pulp Fiction and represented the nerd culture before it became mainstream. All that being said, I’m surprised it took this long for him to get his own iPhone app. Of course, this one has the benefit of being officially sanctioned from Smith himself.
The app pretty much celebrates all things Kevin Smith by being a feed for a lot of Kevin Smith online material and some built-in functionality that no Smith Stalker should be without. These extras include the ability to manipulate a photo of someone to have Kevin Smith stand next to him/her, a Kevin Smith ringtone (Kevin saying "brrrring") and a Kevin Smith soundboard (he says things like "Holy Sh*t" and "You’re f**kin’ nuts").
Now, I like Kevin Smith. Hell, I even look a little like Kevin Smith and share his love of comics, but one or two things about the app annoyed me.
The cost of it is a minimal $.99, which is no big deal. A section of it is used to hock Kevin Smith merchandise, which is consistent with his character and still no big deal. What annoys me is that the stuff doesn’t have prices attached to it, but rather just a "buy" button. I guess if you’re a true Smith fan, price doesn’t matter.
Overall, it’s a fun and cute app and does include some exclusive content (as well as some non-exclusive content such as his Twitter feed). If you’re a Kevin Smith fan and you’ve already bought all his other crap, another $.99 won’t kill you.
Quick Take
Value:High.
Would I Buy Again:There's a good chance.

Who Is It For:Kevin Smith fanatics.
What I Like:It's more about Kevin Smith than you possibly want to know.
What I Don't Like:Where are the prices for his iTunes swag?
Final Statement:Snootchie Bootchie Nootchies!
