Okay – so, you’re out and about and you see something interesting that you want to share with your friends and family. Well, an App called Knocking Live Video by knockinglive.com will do just that.
Download the App, set up an account and you’re ready to stream live videos to your friends and family who have iPod touches or iPhones.
So, how does it work, you ask? Invite a friend by email, to get the Knocking Live Video App for their iPhone or their iPod Touch and soon you will be able to stream your videos. Once you connect with a contact, the App will knock on your contact’s iPhone or iPod Touch. When your friend accepts, he will be connected to your iPhone camera. Only iPhone users can send video streams but both iPhone and iPod Touch users can receive them. Also, right now, you can only stream video, not audio, but it’s still fun to share interesting things that you are seeing with your family and friends. Knocking Live Video is the first App to stream video over WIFI or the 3G network.
While I was away on vacation, I used the App several times to stream live video to both iPhone and iPod Touch family members. They were able to enjoy (or maybe they didn’t!) live streaming video of a blizzard in Wisconsin.
Hopefully, we will soon have the ability to have audio added to our live streaming since that would be a nice feature.
