We have been so much exposed to endless and low end crude bike races that we’ve forgotten how a great one would look like. Madskills BMX with realistic controls and great animations, reminds us of the original BMX feel.

We have plenty seen dirt bikes on dusty roads with dunes and dips. But this game from Turborilla replaces the common accelerometer swaying controls with gesture based complex menouvres, something similar to what we’ve seen with the Extreme Skater game. Race with the CPU or invite friends for a challenge and reach the checkered line first.

Just left tap to accelerate and forget about it; all the rest is at the mercy of your right thumb. Swipe up to jump, swipe down to do a wheelie, swipe left for a flip and more. Sounds simple, right? But timing and planning are two key things determining your victory. Don’t expect to win tracks at the first try; do multiple runs to learn the track and plan where to jump or to do the tricks.

There are 40 different tracks to conquer sorted into Novice, Intermidiate, Expert & Pro and are gradually unlocked based on your performance. Additional tracks are available for purchase and so are custom bikes as per your wish. Despite being a paid app, this one offers a rather expensive in-app store and that is the only thing I have against Mad Skills. Yet, with eye-catching graphics, suitable sound effects and wonderful gameplay, I like what I got for a buck.
