User Rating:Someday, classes in schools will no longer have textbooks. They will have some sort of tablet device (whether by Apple or someone else) that will have interactive lessons on it similar to Maria’s Spanish Class. At $6.99, it’s also cheaper than most Spanish textbooks as well. Or even a "Spanish for Dummies" book. There is a free, lite version if you want to sample before buying the full product.
Keep in mind that this application is huge and will take up a lot of space on your device. It also takes a little while to download. However, it covers pretty much every topic about the Spanish language from the basics to conversational and includes audio examples.
As a language tool, the app is excellent. It takes the user through step-by-step, unlocking each level as they progress as if it were a video game. There are interactive memory games, audio for proper pronunciation and text sections for learning fundamentals. As an interactive textbook, this app had a lot of thought put into it.
Multiple people can register on the program and take the classes at their individual pace. This is a good thing as nowadays it’s tough for me to find the time to sit down and go through a Spanish lesson on my iPod touch.
My only complaint about Maria’s Spanish Class is that it should be available for other languages as well. I have a hankering to learn Japanese. Perhaps that will be available in the future.
Quick Take
Value:High.
Would I Buy Again:Certainly.
Learning Curve:As long as you take to learn another language.
Who Is It For:Those that want to learn Spanish.
What I Like:Easy to use. Much content.
What I Don't Like:Possibly the price, but it's still cheaper than a similar book.
Final Statement:Well worth the price if you can't make it to Spanish class.
