While the whole ‘Boothing’ your face to make it look old, zombified or fat trend has faded somewhat, the plucky guys at Apptly have developed the most impressive facial disfiguring app yet: Oldify. There’s not much to this app: it just let’s you tweak how you will look… In a few years, and with an interesting twist.

Oldify (and the accompanying Fatify, which can be downloaded for free) lets you manually indicate to the app where your eyes, mouth and chin are in relation to each other, making it particularly accurate at morphing the right parts of your face. Furthermore, the final effect looks more realistic than similar apps until this point.

What makes Oldify particularly realistic – and a bit creepy – is the fact that your transformed faces actually move here. Using surprisingly convincing 3D animations, the faces blink at you, yawn, and pull a hilariously anguished expression if you poke them in the forehead (you wouldn’t do that in real life, would you?). Dragging your finger around the screen makes the picture’s eyes follow it. It’s a very impressive feature, and it’s genuinely a bit unsettling seeing your Oldify – ed or Fatify – ed face blinking and yawning right at you, even more when looking at your head-poking finger.

If you obtain both face-disfiguring apps (namely, Oldify and Fatify), you can even combine the effects of the two, creating a monstrous old and fat version of yourself that you can subsequently toy with. There are several extras you can purchase too, such as Ancient Oldify effect, which makes the poor victim in the pic look even more haggard, and also an extra bunch of vulgar animations, letting your creation fart and burp. It’s all completely ridiculous, but it’s so well-designed that you’ll get a hell of a lot of fun out of Oldify.
