You get a lot of functionality for 5 bucks when you purchase OrganiDoc HD. To begin with, it’s a file repository for various types of documents, images and media. While it doesn’t cover every file type imaginable, it does store most of the popular ones.

You can interact with Cloud storage for Dropbox, Google Docs, iCloud, MobileMe (which hasn’t been phased out yet by Apple) and a few other services. You can also read various types of documents (PDF, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.) within the app (although editing within the app is not possible).

My favorite feature has to be the media conversion process. Built into the app, you can convert other video formats to MP4 to play on your iPad (it also can convert audio-only to MP3). Once converted, it plays the media with the built-in iPad functionality. Did I mention that it supports AirPlay as well?

My other favorite feature of the app is the ability to use your web browser on your computer to upload files from your computer to your iPad. No iTunes connection is needed, although you can still also upload files via the app directory for your iPad with that method.

With various files, you can delete, move, rename, protect (to prevent accidental deletion) or even password protect your entire document library.

In terms of organizing personal files, I haven’t seen an app with this much capability for the iPad. While I would prefer to be able to also edit or create documents with the app, that’s a minor complaint (it is capable of dispatching files to other apps for editing). Between the WiFi and media conversion capabilities of this app, it is well worth the five dollars to own.

Quick Take

Value:High.

Would I Buy Again:Yes.

Learning Curve:Low.

Who Is It For:Those who like to take documents with their iPad on the go.

What I Like:Tremendous functionality. WiFi uploads. Media conversion capability.

What I Don't Like:Would be nice to edit documents via the app.

Final Statement:With OrganiDoc, you can bring your business with you.
