In honor of the 30th anniversary of Pac-Man, Namco slashed the price of several Pac-Man games in the App Store, including the original. However, the original is still $3.99 (down from an insane $9.99) while Ms. Pac-Man and Pac-Man Remix are down to $.99.
Pac-Man Remix is a game for Pac-Man fans that like the game but not necessarily the flat 2 dimensional graphics that come with it. Pac-Man Remix plays the same as the classic Pac-Man, but with an added 3-D look.
Despite it’s better graphics, the colors in the main menu still have a retro look and the moving characters in the background could make one nauseous after a while. The Options menu allows the user to change the difficulty, the number of lives Pac-Man has, and the control type (arrow buttons on the screen or flicks of the finger). The app has a decent Help system for assistance.
Using either the arrow buttons or the flicking motion does feel a bit sluggish, and although the game play is smooth, I guess I’m used to the old joystick for this type of game.
Overall, Pac-Man Remix reminds me of the tendency of networks to create modern versions of old television series. Some are good but most are blah.
If you’re into the complete retro arcade experience of Pac-Man, then Pac-Man Remix will suit you fine.

Who Is It For:People that aren't enthusiasts that still like Pac-Man.
What I Like:Very good graphics.
What I Don't Like:Controls are sluggish. Moving images behind menu can make one dizzy.
Final Statement:Good for the discounted price, but overall you can skip this power pellet.
