Day 2 Giveaway 6 – iMenorah

By

On

True story — I sent some friends a copy of iMenorah yesterday.  This evening I received an e-mail from them. It seems the weather caused an unexpected overnight in an airport hotel as they were headed out for a family vacation. All of the baggage was checked so they had nothing but the clothes on their back. Everything else, including their menorah, was packed in their bags.

Well, you guessed it, they pulled out their iPhones and started their holiday in the best way they could.  Something tells me, this is one first night of Hanukkah their kids will always remember.

I hope you don’t get stuck in an airport hotel this week but just in case, we have four copies of iMenorah  to get out at 11 PM tonight. Leave a comment below to enter.

Chess With Friends – A Joint WOiP/JAiB Review

By

On

My buddy Patrick (of Just Another iPhone Blog) and I played some chess this afternoon. Thing is, Patrick is down in Texas and I’m in NJ. Using only our iPhones over WiFi I suffered a humiliating defeat. (He’s a ringer I tell ya!) Here’s our joint WOiP-JAiB review. Patrick is in standard print, I’m in bold)

Among the coolest aspects of the iPhone and its interconnectivity is the ability to remotely network with anyone anywhere in the world over WiFi or three G.  Although we both are iPhone users for well over a year, this was one of the first tests of it.

Very true on that coolest aspects part – it’s very, very  satisfying to strike up a game this way, with an absolute minimum of setup or fuss to get it going.

Welcome Back To JAiB Patrick J!

My involvement with iPhone websites began a little over a year ago when Patrick, over on Just Another iPhone Blog, was kind enough to invite me to become one of his writers. One day I was posting comments on his stories, the next I was writing.

I was brand-new to this world and Patrick was incredibly patient with me. (When I think back to some of the questions I asked him… he was very kind to not laugh outloud.) And when I set out to start whatsoniphone with Dimitri and Ron he was super supportive.

Patrick’s been laying low from Just Another iPhone Blog for the last few months due to some serious health concerns. Fortunately, he has once again beat the cancer and come through the brutal treatments. He’s back and blogging away. The entire blogosphere, and particularly the world of iPhone websites, is better for it. Patrick could have you back mate!
