Did you ever play those tycoon games? You know, like Rollercoaster Tycoon? If you did, then you probably know that these kinds of games can be a lot of fun. If you didn’t, then Paradise Island HD is a good, free alternative that you’ll like.
In this simulation game, you are given an abandoned fishing island and it is your goal to convert it into a bustling tourist town. To do this, you build, build, and build. You can build a hotel or a hot dog stand, for example, and visitors will buy. To collect your money, though, you will need to tap on the dollar sign that appears above the shop. Your money will quickly deteriorate in value if not collected quickly, so you need to open the app often (it does run even when not opened).
Like many other games, you also earn experience and level up. With levels come more buildings available for purchase and some extra money which is usually scarce (it was for me at least). This problem is solvable with the available in-app purchases. The two forms of currency, dollars and golden piastres, are available in several different increments.
With this being the 1.0 version, there really aren’t too many bugs. However, at least one is present: this unimportant glitch involves the island visitors. The visitors will often go swimming in the ocean and will turn from woman to man or from brown-haired to black, and then usually end up disappearing.
But again, this is the initial release and hopefully there will be many more additions. Still, in its current state it is a great, free game that you can’t go wrong with.
